The Baltic Exchange and Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers present the second series of lectures in Shanghai, Singapore, Athens and London.
Intended to support and develop those working in chartering and operations. The series will examine topical issues facing those working in these roles, offering advice on best practice in critical situations and insight into the changing patterns affecting sectors within shipping. Taking place near the end of every other month and including lunch where applicable, the lectures are free to all those working at Baltic companies or are ICS members or company members.
Supported by the major broking houses, this initiative is aimed at supporting those developing their careers in shipping and encouraging better advocacy across the future generation of industry leaders.
The final lecture of the series takes a dive into the 2 trillion dollar One Belt One Road initiative led by China which is transforming global trade affecting and is anticipated to dramatically impact areas covering; 70% of the global population, 75% of known energy reserves and 55% of global GNP.
After the initial, multi-billion dollar investments and development of major infrastructure that's already been seen along the OBOR maritime routes, there can be no doubt of the intention but what will the impact be and where will it most dramatically be felt, what does OBOR mean for shipping markets and who will be the beneficiaries of this truly awesome long term project?
Come along on the 29th May and hear our experts explain these angles to OBOR and discuss how it could impact your business.
