Join us for the first lecture of the year in the Baltic Exchange & Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Lecture Series. This session, titled "Counting the Cost of Emissions Regulation", will take a deep dive into one of the most pressing concerns in the shipping industry today-how emissions regulations impact pricing and cost allocation across the supply chain.
The session will explore perspectives from stakeholders on to what extent the cost burdens from emissions regulation charges are fairly distributed, transparent and can be passed on. The discussion will review the challenges and opportunities associated with pricing and emerging tools and strategies in freight markets.
Agenda Topics:
• How do you work out the cost of ETS and Fuel EU Maritime compliance?
• Who pays, and the impacts for contracts and administration?
• What have we learned so far? What's working, and what's not?
• What can we expect from the upcoming IMO MEPC session in April? Why Attend?
• Engage in discussions on the future of emissions regulation and its impact on global shipping.
• Understand the principles and tools to estimate the added cost of compliance correctly.
• Evaluate emissions compliance costs and the impact on freight calculations.
