The Institute in East Africa

The East Africa branch was registered as ICS Kenya on 31st of
May 2007. The branch was later granted mandate by The Institute
over 10 East African countries and renamed Institute of Chartered
Shipbrokers East Africa.
Prior to its registration, the branch was run by members of the
Executive Committee on a voluntary basis, but upon its
registration, a secretariat coordinator was hired on temporary
basis to run the day to day activities of the branch. However, the
secretariat coordinator relocated from Mombasa and the EC saw the
need to engage a member of staff to serve on full time basis.
Subsequently, a Programme Officer was employed and a branch
secretariat office set up.
The Branch premises were officially opened in October 2016.
