Our series has reached today its conclusion, with a lecture on the hedging and financial instruments used by shipping principals. The series has had a great success with over 600 memebrs attending our lectures in Shanghai, Singapore, Athens and London.
Crispin Eccleston from Baltic Exchange hosted the event in London where we had a very good speaker John Banaskiewicz, MD, Freight Investor Services.
He provided a great hands on presentation with lots of data and examples from the current markets - both dry and wet. And also with a look at what the FFA future seems to hold according to FIS.
In Athens, the lecture was delivered by Katerina Stathopoulou, Executive Director, Investments & Finance Ltd.
The lecture was well attended and the topic prompted a lively discussion that kept the speaker busy for well over two hours!
In Shanghai Kelvin Zhang, Shipbroker-Projects, from Lorentzen and Stemoco provided his expert insights on how the supply and demand of commodities will affect shipping in the next 24-36 months.
We are indeed greatful to all our speakers for giving up their lunch break and come and talk to our members.
We will soon announce the start of the 2nd Annual Lunchtime Lecture Series (Sept 2018-May 2019) and we are looking forward to welcoming all our members again!
