The Australia/New Zealand Branch is pleased to report that it successfully ran another two day Bespoke Commercial Shipping Practice Course that was held this time in Perth on the 3rd and 4th of October 2017.
We relied heavily on the local support work of our two West Australian representatives Tony Pegum FICS and Mark North MICS to bring this course to market.
15 attendees took part, mainly from the dry cargo side. Attendees worked for grain traders, mining, agency and survey companies. Again the gender split was about 50-50 which further confirmed the increasing role women are playing in the shipping industry.
The venue was the Holiday Inn in Perth and we were well catered for there.
Captain N B M D'Souza FICS was the Course Director and as usual his performance as main speaker was a tour de force. Nick Vann FICS and Mark North MICS assisted Nigel adding anecdotes and examples from their extensive careers in ship chartering.
This was the fifth presentation of this course in Australia but our first in West Australia which is becoming an important area of growth for our branch.
