Middle East Branch Seminar on the latest regulations conducting Business with Qatar

On July 10th, the Middle East branch hosted a networking event for its members with a presentation pertaining to the new rules in place in business with Qatar. The event was well attended with over 80 participants between members and local professionals. The presentation was conducted by Mr Alessandro Tricoli (Partner and Head of Shipping Department at the legal firm Fichte & Co).

Following an engaging networking session, Mr Alessandro Tricoli started his presentation discussing the legal aspects of the new rules in place when conducting business with Qatar. He also discussed potential liabilities and risks that may arise. He covered various aspects and scenarios with respect to shipping. The presentation was followed by a question and answer session where members discussed various scenarios their business face at the moment with the current Qatar situation.

Ms Eleonora Modde, Project Manager from the ICS Head Office, who was visiting Dubai also addressed the members on the various methods in which the head office can assist the membership. This was well received by the membership.

The event ended on a high note with presentation of the ICS ME Calendar of events that covers monthly activities until January 2018.
