We are delighted to announce a new partnership with Sea & Beyond in Mumbai, India. Offically bringing them on board as a Recognised Partner in maritime education and professional development.
We work with maritime organisations and education providers worldwide that teach our syllabus. With recognised partners in over ten countries, including Malta, South Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan, Türkiye, the Maldives, the USA, the UAE, Hong Kong and the UK, the new partnership extends our reach into India.
We are committed to promoting universal access to high-quality professional education in shipping and do so through our international network.
Sea & Beyond is a leading platform in India that provides seafarers with comprehensive guidance on career progression and educational opportunities. Recognising the increasing demand for maritime professionals transitioning to commercial roles, this partnership ensures high-quality support and education for those preparing for change.
Captain Gaurav Rana, Founder of Sea & Beyond, commented, "India has emerged as a key hub for global maritime companies seeking to expand and enhance their strategic and support functions. This has led to a steady and increasing demand for maritime professionals across all levels.
"Our partnership with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers will equip seafarers and maritime professionals, with vital commercial qualifications, enabling them to transition into commercial roles and succeed in the global shipping industry. We are confident that this initiative will reinforce India's position as a top source of talent, driving sustained growth and innovation in the sector."
ICS has maintained official branches in Madras (since 1995) and Mumbai (since 2006). However, this partnership with Sea & Beyond marks the first Recognised Partner in India, reinforcing the value of local support in helping maritime professionals make informed career decisions.
Krishnan Subramaniam FICS, ICS Vice-Chair, stated, "Having a dedicated local partner in Mumbai, India, where there is increased demand for recognised qualifications in maritime and commercial shipping, will enhance our efforts in supporting seafarers and maritime professionals in making the right study choices for them. On behalf of the Institute, I am delighted to welcome Sea & Beyond as a recognised partner. We look forward to working closely with their team, as well as with new students and professionals in India."
We look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship with the Indian maritime community.
