The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) Greek Branch successfully hosted its annual Vassilopita Cutting Event, bringing together Members, industry professionals, and esteemed guests for an evening of insightful discussions and networking.

Prior to the traditional Vasilopita cutting, ICS Greek Branch, in collaboration with P&P Marine Consultants, organized a seminar on "Marine Casualties: Experts' Views on Effective Handling." The event featured an esteemed panel of industry specialists who provided valuable perspectives on the complexities of marine incidents, claims handling, and the financial and legal implications of casualties at sea.

The panel discussion was moderated by Harris Loukopoulos, Head of Legal at Evalend Shipping Co. Ltd, and featured leading experts:

  • Anestis Dimitriadis, Senior Claims Executive, Lawyer, Skuld Hellas Ltd.
  • Konstantinos Economou, General Secretary, Association of Banking Executives of Hellenic Shipping & Head of Shipping Finance, Attica, Pancreta Bank
  • George Margaritopoulos, Associate Director, Richards Hogg Lindley (RHL)
  • Harilaos Petrakakos, Director - Senior Surveyor, P&P Marine Consultants Inc.

Following the seminar, members and friends from the shipping industry had the opportunity to interact in a warm atmosphere during the cocktail reception. A highlight of the evening was the much-anticipated Vassilopita Cutting, where the lucky winners of the traditional coins received wonderful gifts.

A special thank you to the companies that generously contributed these exceptional gifts: AEGEAN Airlines, Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens, Gallery Kapsioti, and SeaOrama: World of Shipping.

Heartfelt thanks to V.Ships and our Fellow Member, Dimitris Patrikios, Managing Director of V.Ships Greece for their hospitality in hosting this event at their auditorium and event facilities.
