The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers - Middle East branch conducted AGM and Networking over High Tea Event on 12th Sep 2023 at the Millennium Airport Hotel, Airport Road - Dubai. It was attended by over 70 shipping professionals from the region.

The event started with the AGM showing the impressive performance of the year 2022 - 23 and the continued progress the branch is making. The new branch committee Chairman Mr. Ali Canani, FICS outlined strong plans and smart goals to enhance engagement with Students, Members and the wider Industry. Later Mr. Ravi Shankar FICS, General Secretary of the branch presented the Annual Report of the branch followed by each committee member presenting reports of their respective portfolio. Thankachan M. Joy FICS - Membership Lead,  Mr. Dinesh Lobo FICS - Education Lead, Mr. Sudesh Chaturvedi FICS -  Business/ Events Lead. Finally, Vivek Sharma FICS, the branch Treasurer presented the Audited Financials which were approved by the membership.

The AGM was followed by Networking session over High Tea. The guest speaker was Mr. Tarek Liddawi, Regional Commercial Senior Director, Hapag-LLoyd who shared his insights on the current market updates. The session was followed by Q & A. Following that, we had Mr. Nandakumar Godavarma, Senior Manager Import Sales from Globelink West Star Shipping LLC who said a few words on why they are regular sponsors of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.

Lastly, we welcomed our new elected members Anil Kuriakose Adaplavan MICS, Katlego Makgato MICS and Shefali Suvarna MICS.
