2019 ICS Classical Shipping Development Program again a success
The 2019 ICS Classical Shipping Development Program was hosted in Shanghai from 31st Aug to 2nd Sep. 18 candidates from 15 companies joined the training course this time, including but not limited to Maersk Line, COSCO SHIPPING, Sinopec (Hong Kong), China Merchants Energy Shipping, Ningbo Marine, Eurochart S.A, Pacific Gas, Eastern Ocean Transportation, New Yangtze, Fortune Ocean, Chinaland.
All attendees completed the program and were granted with a certificate jointly issued by the Institute and the Professional Qualification Authority of Ministry of Transport P. R. China.
Ms. Susan Oatway FICS, Vice-Chair of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers was in Shanghai for the fourth time and covered topics around Shipping Business and Dry Cargo Chartering. Dr. Fan Wei, Vice President of Skuld, talked about the Charterparty & Damages, Insurance, Law and Unsafe Port. Shipping experts Mr. Ji Wen Yuan, Chairman of Seamaster and Ms. Nicola Mason, Vice President & Head of Skuld Hong Kong shared their experience with all attendees.
The diverse background and work experience of our speakers gave participants exposure to the different factors that shipping practitioners could well be facing.
Networking and Open Day events were also an integral part of the program; some potential students came along, eager to know more about the options to get an internationally recognised shipping qualification with the Institute.
