The Blue Career and Business Expo which was organized by the Gulf of Guinea Maritime Institute (GoGMI), is to create multiple opportunity-exchange platforms for young people to interact with maritime leaders and the Institute.

We had our International Membership Committee Chairman, Gertrude Adwoa Ohene-Asienim (FICS) participating as a panellist for discussion on a topic: Gender Mainstreaming in Ghana's Maritime Sector.

The main focus was to showcase the benefits of membership to the public and take advantage of the platform to market the professional courses and how to get registered as a student as well as becoming a member of the Institute.

High Profile individuals like the Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana, Dr. Kofi Mbiah former CEO of Ghana Shippers Authority, Dr. George Kobina VanDyck, Regional Maritime University Graduate School Coordinator, University students and professionals within the shipping and maritime industry visited our booth to interact with our representatives. The event was highly successful as we had some good traffic at our booth and look forward to a good follow up to expand our current membership.
