    Cyprus Branch, connecting the Industry.

    With the demands of both Members and Students in mind, the final quarter of 2019 was marked by three events.

    The quarter started with the well-established Maritime Cyprus Exhibition, taking place during early October. ICS Cyprus Branch actively participated in organising the "Young Executive Session" which took place on 8th October 2019. The Young Executive Session was conceptualised and organised through a series of meetings with the input of the island's major Non-Governmental shipping organisations (NGOs), under the auspices of the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Shipping. The event aspired to be the start of a series of open discussions relating to current issues phased by the Shipping community, as well as promoting Cyprus as a Shipping Hub. To this end, ICS Cyprus Branch representatives took part as mentors and had the opportunity to receive valuable feedback regarding the expectations of Members and Students alike.…

    Introduction to Institute of chartered shipbrokers (ICS) U.K. courses at ABU DHABI Maritime Academy Workshop on Practical aspects of Bills of Lading

    The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers had organized an event on 30th January 2020 in the Auditorium of Abu Dhabi Port Head Quarter. Event started at 9:30 AM with the welcome speech from Capt. Maktoum AL Houqani, Chief Corporate Authority Officer, Abu Dhabi Ports & Managing Director, Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy.
    Followed by an excellent introduction to the Institute of chartered shipbrokers (ICS) U.K. by Mr. Krishnan Subramaniam, President ICS, Dubai, UAE then an introduction to ICS, Middle east Branch Dubai UAE, Exams & Membership programs and their benefits by Mr. Ravi Shankar, General Secretary ICS - MBA, FICS.
    After which we had 2 of our most prestigious member & fellow Mr Virasp and Mr. Dinesh shared their experience, benefits & the impact of being an ICS member in their career.
    Then there was an introduction to our Tutorship programs by Capt. Khurshid Khalid Master Mariner, MBA (U.K.) MICS (U.K.) MCILT (U.K.), Nautical Science Lecturer, Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy along with the details speech on all subjects was given, soon after which there was an excellent workshop on Practical Aspects on Bills of lading by Mr, Krishnan Subramaniam.
    There was an exchange of Momento between ICS and ADMA after the event was winded with vote of thanks by Engineer, Hamad Al Maghrabi, Director Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy.
    After facilitating the event, we departed to Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy -Mussafah for a quick tour of the academy, we had a very warm welcome by the staff and an amazing experience of Virtual sailing followed by a refreshment.
